Join us for an exclusive gathering with the Oak Spring Garden Foundation at their recently restored Granary Barn on Rokeby Farm to learn the fascinating history of the farm and about their most famous racehorse, Mill Reef. Born in 1969 at Rokeby Stables, Mill Reef would make history as one of the world’s best racehorses, winning at prestigious competitions such as the Eclipse Stakes, Epsom Derby, King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. We will explore Mill Reef’s life and the role of Oak Spring in Virginia’s equestrian history.

Program Highlights Include: A discussion on the history of Oak Spring’s beautiful Rokeby Farm, presented by ecological expert, Mr. Michael Gaige

An exploration of Virginia thoroughbred racing, presented by Executive Director of the Virginia Equine Alliance (VEA), Mr. John B. Hannum, M.F.H.

A screening of the documentary Mill Reef: A Legacy of Heart Enjoy a reception in the Granary Courtyard overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains with hors d'oeuvres prepared by Oak Spring’s head chef, Mr. Jason Neve
